PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
Adgas’ Integrated Gas Development (IGD-2) Project:
Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (Adgas) has invited commercial bids for the $1 billion phase two expansion of the Integrated Gas Development (IGD-2) project.

Last date to submit bids is 18 July, 2018.

Technical offers have been submitted by the following leading international contractors:
• Fluor of the US
• Larsen & Toubro (L&T) of India / CB&I of US
• Tecnicas Reunidas of Spain
• Petrofac of UK / National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) of Abu Dhabi

The contract is likely to be awarded later this year.

ADWEA’s Taweelah Independent Water Project (IWP):
Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (Adwea) has invited the following 13 pre-qualified firms to submit bids for the proposed development of 200 million gallons per day greenfield reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination plant at Taweelah region.

Last date to submit bids is 29 October, 2018.

The developer will own up to 40 per cent of a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) that will sign a long-term agreement to sell water to the authority, which will directly or indirectly own the rest of the equity in the project.

The project’s advisory team for the design and procurement includes Alderbrook (financial), ILF (technical) and White & Case (legal).

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

Adnoc’s Hail, Ghasha Offshore Sour Gas Development:

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has set a schedule for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for the development of $15 billion Hail and Ghasha offshore ultra sour gas mega project.

EPC contracts are scheduled to be issued in Q4, 2018. Client prepares to tender 3 EPC packages as part of the project.

The packages are -
•Package 1: Ghasha offshore processing plant (GOP) and central living quarters
•Package 2: Manayif utilities and offsites, pipelines and tie-ins, main control building, early works and non-process buildings (onshore)
•Package 3: Manayif process plant (onshore)

Currently, the project is in the front end engineering design (feed) phase. Artelia of France is carrying out detailed engineering work for the artificial islands, while Bechtel of US is carrying out feed for all other facilities associated with the project.

Houston’s KBR is carrying out the project management consultancy (PMC) work for the feed phase of the project.

The project aims to produce a billion cubic feet a day of sour gas and associated condensate from the offshore Hail and Ghasha fields.

OPWP's Ibri Solar PV Independent Power Project (IPP):
Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has invited firms to submit proposals for the 500 MW solar photovoltaic plant to be developed at Ibri, 300 kilometres away from Muscat.

Last date to submit bids is 22 October, 2018.

The pre-qualified firms for the contract are:

This project is the first in the series of renewable energy projects that OPWP plans to develop over the next few years to support the sustainability strategy in the country.

PDMI's Chlor-Akali PVC Plant Project:
Project Development & Management International (PDMI) has awarded a contract to design and deliver a greenfield chlor-akali PVC plant 150 km southeast of the Omani capital Muscat, to SNC-Lavalin.

Under the contract, SNC-Lavalin will support the project from concept development to commissioning, carrying out the initial engineering, master planning, process technology evaluation and selection to support project financial investment decision approvals.

SNC-Lavalin will also support the operations and maintenance of the plant.

The plant will produce around a quarter of a million tons per annum of PVC destined for Asia, and around 140,000 tons per annum of sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) that will support local industries.

The project is estimated to cost $1.5 billion.

KOC’s East Kuwait 1 Gas Network Upgrade Project:
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded a contract for modernization and development of the gas and condensate network in East Kuwait 1 area, to Arabi Enertech Company, a subsidiary of Arabi Group Holdings.

The contract's total value amounted to KWD 27.8 million ($92.1 million).

Kuwait is undertaking several energy infrastructure support projects to boost its crude production up to 4 million barrels a day by 2020.

GPCL’s Charanka Solar Park Project:
Two orders worth over Rs 125 crore for developing solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants at Gujarat Power Corporation Limited’s (GPCL) Charanka Solar Park have been awarded, to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

The projects will be implemented on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. The first order placed by Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals (GACL) is for setting up a 20 MW solar photovoltaic plant. The second order was placed by Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals (GSFC) for setting up a 10 MW solar power plant.

With these orders, BHEL's solar capacity under execution at Gujarat Solar Park has reached 120 MW while the company's solar portfolio has risen to 580 MW. It is presently executing over 210 MW of ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV projects across the country.

SECI’s Gujrai Solar Park:
The winner has been emerged in the auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for Gujrai Solar Park.

ACME Solar Holdings has been emerged as the winner by quoting a bid price of Rs. 3.38/kWh for 50 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Gujrai Solar Park, located in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh.

The PPAs will be signed within one month of the issue of Letter of Intent (LoI). SECI will sell the power to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).

The project is a part of a tender to develop 275 MW of grid-connected solar PV parks across Uttar Pradesh. These projects were tendered under the government’s National Solar Mission (NSM) Phase-II Batch-IV.

HAL’s Koraput Grid-Connected Solar PV Project:
The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has issued tender to develop a 6 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project on behalf of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in its estate in Odisha’s Koraput division at Sunabeda.

Last date to submit bids is 2 July, 2018.

The contract scope of work includes the design, construction, installation, testing, synchronization, and commissioning of the grid-connected solar PV project.

The solar project developer (SPD) will also be required to construct a boundary with 3 feet high wall and 8 feet high fence all around the solar PV project with a suitable gate for access.

HAL will enter into power purchase agreement (PPA) for the purchase of solar power from the selected developer for a period of 25 years.

HPCL’s Visakhapatnam Refinery Modernisation Project:
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) has awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for execution of an integrated effluent treatment plant (IETP) for its Vishakapatnam refinery’s modernisation project (VRMP), to Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The scope of work includes basic and detailed engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, installation, testing, commissioning of the IETP, which will cater to the future requirements of the existing projects and replace all existing ETPs of the Visakh refinery.

The project covers all modern technologies related to oil removal from refinery effluent, which includes SBR-based treatment of 1,000 cu mtr per hour refinery effluent, MBR-based sewage treatment system, wet air oxidation-based spent caustic treatment system and volatile organic compound control system.

The capacity of the existing refinery will be expanded from 8.33 million tonne to 15 million tonne.

The project entails an investment of Rs. 20,950 crores and is expected to be completed by Q3, 2020.
