Iraqi Drilling Launches the Largest Drilling Rig ‘IDC 57’ in Iraq

The Iraqi Drilling Company launched the largest drilling rig in Iraq, the IDC 57, with a horsepower capacity of 3,000 horsepower, in the Majnoon oil field. The company's general manager, Mr. Khaled Hamza Abbas, said that the IDC 57 drilling rig is a qualitative addition to the company's drilling equipment, as it is one of the modern and advanced devices and is distinguished by its high horsepower capacity and can drill wells to depths of up to 8,500 metres.

 

Hamza added that the technical and engineering personnel working on the device have begun drilling the Yamamah evaluation well in the Majnoon oil field for the benefit of the Basra Oil Company, noting that drilling the well contributes to obtaining important geological data for developing the field through knowing the properties of the reservoir and the amount of oil fluids, in addition to knowing the reservoir pressures and its limits. and production pressures.
