Suzlon Wins Order for 551.25 MW Wind Power Project in Barmer, Bhuj

Suzlon has secured a new order win for the development of a 551.25 MW wind power project from the three MW series from Aditya Birla Group. Suzlon will install 175 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each at sites in Barmer district in Rajasthan and Bhuj district in Gujarat.

As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and execute the project, including erection and commissioning, in Rajasthan, while they will supply, supervise, and commission the project in Gujarat. These turbines feature doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) technology, integrating the wind turbines into the utility network to meet grid requirements.

The generated power is to be utilized for captive usage within the Aditya Birla Group companies. A project of this size can provide electricity to 4.54 lakh households, with the potential to curb around 17.92 lakh tonne of CO2 emissions per year.
